CORNUS KOUSA CHINA GIRL

Large shrub with a slender upright habit, funnel-shaped. Mature thin branches. May reach 4 – 5 m. high and 2 – 3 m. wide. The young branches are light brown, the old ones grey-brown. Opposite oval green leaves with long tips, grey-green beneath with a yellowish petiole. Bright red colour in autumn. The white flowers have a light slender green glow. Oval bracts, more tapering in comparison to the other hybrids. Conspicuous flowering in June. Raspberry-like fruit, dark pink with petioles 4 – 6 long, very striking. Not recommended for poor, shallow soils.
