Acer palmatum dissectum atropurpureum

"Stella Rossa"

This cultivar has been long selected by the Gilardelli nurseries. Much appreciated especially for the leaf shape and its deep red colour, unaltered from Spring to Autumn, which make it unequalled by other dissectum atropurpureum. The leaf is finely divided and the lobe edges delicately toothed.
The pendulous growth habit is typical dissectum. Despite the thin twigs and the general sense of delicacy which it conveys, the plant is sufficiently strong.
Low grafted specimen over thirty years old, have a large globe-like shape of extreme beauty and value.
