Acer palmatum dissectum atropurpureum

"Pink Filigree"

It is a hybrid obtained by crossing the 'Ornatum' and 'Stella Rossa' varieties.
The basic colour, unchanged, is bronze- red reminiscent of the typical 'Ornatum' Spring colouring. The new strong buds stand high above the rest of the vegetation, in an irregular shape, almost erect at first and then drooping. Typical is the deep pink colour of the leaves.
This contrast is even more evident on bright sunny days and it produces quite a spectacular look, very difficult to describe. This sight can be enjoyed for the whole growing season: Spring and Summer.
The leaves are small, fine and deeply divided and do not burn in direct sunlight. Of the 'Stella Rossa' typical features it mainly retains the shape of the leaves. It has the pendulous and wide habit typical of the dissectum and the mature specimen is roundish and drooping.
