Acer palmatum dissectum atropurpureum

"Garnet"

The relevant characteristic of this cultivar is its colour and strength, the leaves are deep orange red. If cultivated in the shade the colour tends to be on the green side, but in sunny sites the garnet-red colour develops quite well.
The plant grows vigorously up to a height of 3 metres with an equally wide diameter.
Its pendulous and large habit, typical of the dissectum, makes for a beautiful and drooping shape when mature.
The leaves are large for a dissectum, while the dark colour lasts quite well during the summer season.
The points can become brown in colour if exposed to direct sunlight, especially if the plant is dehydrated.
